Tambun is a small town in the State of Perak, on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is about five kilometers east of Ipoh, the state capital. The town is close to the North-South Expressway (E1), approximately 200 km (125 miles) north of Kuala Lumpur.
By public transport
Arriving in Ipoh by bus or train, by far the easiest way to get to Tambun is by taxi. The ride should cost around RM12-15 for the whole car, but negotiate the fare in advance. Make sure the taxi driver knows where he's going! Head to Tambun village, and turn right at the traffic lights onto Jalan Ampang. The farm is just past milestone (Kilometer Marker 4), on the right hand side. Coming from the airport, a taxi ride should cost around RM15-20.
Alternatively, you could take a local bus to Tambun village. From the Medan Kid Bus Station (not the intercity bus station!), take the local bus to Tambun (20 minutes, RM 1). Buses leave every twenty minutes between 05:30 and 22:00. Call ahead to the Chin Pomelo Farm to arrange a pick-up in Tambun (tel no: +6012-3736 743).
By car
Follow the directions given below:
To Pomelo Farm:
After u exit Ipoh toll, turn left. Go straight, pass the Jusco building is on your left Keep left, proceed until u come across a traffic light junction (Pantai Hospital on your left). Turn left, follow the road, until another traffic light junction, turn right (landmark : Tambun police station). Go straight, watch out for a milestone (with Ampang 4 written on it) on your right.The farm is just about 200m from the milestone (with a shop selling fruits).
To Healing Farm:
Exit Ipoh toll, turn left, go straight until Hospital Pantai traffic lights junction, turn left. Go along the road, turn right just before Sg Pinji bridge. Follow the road until you come across a yellow sign indicated Tambun Acupuncture Academy
To Diary farm:
Exit Ipoh toll, turn left, go straight until Hospital Pantai traffic lights junction, turn left. Go along the road until a set of traffic lights, turn right. Straight on until you come across the yellow sign board on the left. Turn left, Sarjeet diary farm should be about 100m from the main road.
To Tibetan Buddhist Temple:
Exit Ipoh toll, turn left, go straight until Hospital Pantai traffic lights junction, turn left. Go along the road until a set of traffic lights, turn right. Straight on until you come across the yellow sign board on the left. Turn left, follow the road until you see a temple with a tower, go around the temple. Look for a signage Jingang Jin She, follow the narrow path. Turn right into the Jingang Jin She parking lot.
