Directions

Tambun is a small town in the State of Perak, on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is about five kilometers east of Ipoh, the state capital. The town is close to the North-South Expressway (E1), approximately 200 km (125 miles) north of Kuala Lumpur.

By public transport

Arriving in Ipoh by bus or train, by far the easiest way to get to Tambun is by taxi. The ride should cost around RM12-15 for the whole car, but negotiate the fare in advance. Make sure the taxi driver knows where he's going! Head to Tambun village, and turn right at the traffic lights onto Jalan Ampang. The farm is just past milestone (Kilometer Marker 4), on the right hand side. Coming from the airport, a taxi ride should cost around RM15-20.

Alternatively, you could take a local bus to Tambun village. From the Medan Kid Bus Station (not the intercity bus station!), take the local bus to Tambun (20 minutes, RM 1). Buses leave every twenty minutes between 05:30 and 22:00. Call ahead to the Chin Pomelo Farm to arrange a pick-up in Tambun (tel no: +6012-3736 743).
